my running adventures – barefoot or otherwise
As regular readers of my blog will know, I am rather partial to a bit of parkrun exposure! I have now run at three different parkrun venues in my county (Forest Rec, Colwick and Rushcliffe in Nottinghamshire), and am looking for excuses to visit others around the country!
If you haven’t come across parkrun yet, please do visit their phenomenal website.
The following image is one posted by a fellow blogger, that I couldn’t work out how to re-blog officially, so I’ve done it this way instead. The blogger I took this from can be found at http://fitfor365.wordpress.com/.
Here’s the ‘infographic’ which I am reliably informed can be found at visual.ly (just search for ‘parkrun’):
So, for those who have experienced parkrun, I’d love to hear why you love parkrun!
I’ll get the ball rolling:
I love parkrun because…Time is a precious commodity when you have a young family (including a 4-day old baby girl – Rosie, since you ask :-), and being able to run in a free, competitive, fun and relaxed environment whenever I have a window on a Saturday morning, is a wonderful thing.
This is just one of many reasons I could think of. For more, please read the interview series with Mike Wells on this blog – I don’t want to cramp your style in saying what you particularly enjoy about parkrun.
And, if you are one of the tiniest, weeniest minority of individuals that doesn’t love parkrun, I’d be interested in your reasons too. I’m all for open debate.
Keep a lookout for the final instalment of the Mike Wells interview, coming later on this week.
